Hi, I'm excited to be a part of Highland Tech High! I've been a school nurse in Anchorage for over 20 years. East High was my home for most of those years so now it’s nice to experience a smaller learning community and a different educational model. My love of the great outdoors led me to Montana State University in Bozeman where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I stayed for an extra year to complete a nurse practitioner course and then moved to Alaska. I've since earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Portland, married, and raised three children.

Barbara retired as an elementary school teacher and is now enjoying the scene at Highland Tech High. In the summer, she loves to fly fish and play golf.  She also plays tennis all year round.  When not active outdoors, she reads, crochets, paints, does word puzzles and cooks. Barb is "Alaskan grown", graduated from East High School, and is an alumnus of UAA.
